Pretty rifle but seems like it is in some wildcat caliber?

Nice rifle, essentially the 375 RUM necked up to .458.

It's cheap at that price if it feeds and shoots Wink

Fred Zeglin invented it .. look in wildcats, under RUM, first page as of today, I posted a link...

its a 300 or 375 rum, necked to .458, and kicks tail...

and SLAP! any moron that says "the rum case is just a 404 jeffery... the rum is .006 larger base diameter.. and should one compare SPEC cases, it would be a DANGEROUS case head expansion to make rum cases from jeffe...

Now, the FACTS are cases tend to be .004 or so smaller, so one CAN make great SPEC jeffe cases from rum, albeit with a SLIGHTLY rebated rim

Of course, you could just do a 458 AR on a strandard action

Holy crap he must have 500 pieces of brass! I wonder if they're properly stamped? Beautiful rifle to boot!

There was a gun very similar to that in the same 458 Ultra on GB for about 1200 with dies, brass, some loaded ammo, and ready to load formed brass. This rifle however, is gorgeous...but not 12K gorgeous. Especially when 12K can get you into a good working double if you look around.

Thanks guys, seems pretty stupid to stamp 450 Ultra on the side of a rifle that is really a 458 Ultracat?! If it is hard to figure out now can you imagine 30 years from now.

While it is a very nice looking rifle I can't see how you can get $12K worth of work in a bolt gun?

However someone that would buy this would probably never shoot it, never hunt it, and sit it in the corner to rub on now and again, show it off to the buddies and such. You find that a lot in some circles, more than you can imagine. Not here of course!

Are you on drugs? I went over to gunbroker and looked at that POS thing you are talking about, is that the Remington you refer to??? The brass might be fine, but I would not have that rifle close to me, might infect me with some sort of virus or something! Heh Heh! I am F*%#*%& with you just a bit, so don't take offense please.

I think the far better choices are either Jeffes ARs or my B&Ms all depending on the rifle one wants to carry!

The only R700 I own, is an ultra light 300wsm nearly completed, and I only used that because I picked up the action for 200$ LOL other then that, you won't see me with a Rem, and certainly not in a massive caliber/DG rifle such as this. Plus, no matter what the platform, thats too much rifle for this gent Wink
