Guys did anyone ever go ahead with a 458 based off a larger than weatherby but smaller than BMG sized case? Eg OK/gibbs necked down or the 408 CT necked up to .458? Karl.

the 45/50bmg has been done.. reaility is that people can't take the recoil levels that those would make.. rob and john did a 45/600ok ... barrel cooker, and requires a very specialized actio opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? All 50BMG neckdowns are barrel cookers and that's why I am not interested in them. Recoil is okay if you stick to the anti-material platform though. The 458/600 is borderline case capacity for me, but for sure I aint interested in too much work. Surprised no one necked the 505 down or 408CT up yet... Regards, Karl.

There is the 475 royale , a gibbs to 475 ... to me, its econmoics .. i can get all the recoil i want from a cheap case ... and i guess if you followed the gibbs evolution back up, the 577 NE to 577/500 to 505 gibbs ... i bet somone tried a 577/450 that wasn't the musket round .. bet the 45 caliber ban under the british flag had something to do with it opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
