I know special converters to fire small game cartridges are popular in Europe-can one be had for small game out of a 416 Rigby? Australia I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of drought and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea, Her beauty and her terror The wide brown land for me!

Doesn't look like it, though they are available for .375H&H and .458 Win Mag! See this Lothar Walther catalogue page. Begs the question though, why would you want one? Cheers, Doug

Why would you want one? This winter at the indoor range I could be plinking out small groups with a .375 H&H fitted with the insert. I ask another shooter if they would like to try it. I then surreptitiously change out the insert for a full sized cartridge. Hee, hee, hee. lawndart

These were at one time quite popular, mostly beacause it allows you cheap practise with your main hunting rifle. Personally I would like to know how the insert may effect the barrel, rifling etc.
