If you're like others who hunt Africa, you get pretty interested in the animals. I've got several very good field guides to mammals and peruse them regularly. But I'm an ignoramus when it comes to birds, and there are a whole lot of them. I checked with some birders and bought Birds of Africa south of the Sahara by Ian Sinclair and Peter Ryan, Struik Publishers www.struik.co.za I highly recommend this book; it's well organized and easy to use. One day I hope to be able to differentiate between a cordonbleu and a grenadier, between a longclaw and a pipit, and between a batise and a wattle-eye. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim. | ||
