Question concerning a sxs shotgun that I bought some 18 years ago while stationed in Germany. It is a 12 guage boxlock and the only finding of a stamped name on the barrel is "Made in GDR" with Suhl at the top of it and stamped on the bottom just above the trigger guard. This is on the left barrel and on the right reads "special-GEWEHRLAUFSTAHL". Does anyone know where I can find more info on this shotgun?

"special-GEWEHRLAUFSTAHL" means special shotgun barrel steel. The other informations just says it was made in Suhl Germany. There should be some proof marks that will give you details on the bores, proof load and possibly chamber length but there is no information you offered regarding the maker.
