| damage to the barrel won't occur. damage to the buckshot will and their will be almost no pattern. i tried it several times with different barrels and buckshot loads and it brings a new meaning to "spreader loads". |

| max(hm2) is right, the rifling acts as a centrifuge throwing the shot out away from the center. |

| a load of buckshot fired at an open door from 20feet can entirely miss the open door. The pellets will hit the floor ceiling and walls on either side...
