Have chance to pick one of these up at a decent price...don't know much about them? Any issues? thoughts? Mike Never under estimate the internet community to use any opportunity to reply to a post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence problem.  What I have learned on AR, since 2001: 1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken. 2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps. 3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges. 4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down. 5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine. 6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle. 7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions. 8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA. 9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not. 10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact. 11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores. 12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence. 13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances. | ||

A Kreighoff is essentially a 3200 made the right way. It is (IMO) the best O/U ever made by Remington-- | |||

Model 32's and 3200's are nice boxlock O/U's. A bit heavy but well made. Remington allowed Kreighoff to use their Model 32 design and have been quite successful, especially now the receivers are throughly hardened. I remember in 1974-75 era when themodel 3200's sold in the Navy PX in Guam for $259.00. Several editions have been added through the years. The last model offered by Remington was in 1983. IMHO the 3200 is an excellent built O/U while a bit heavy for most except the trap shooters. Focus on the leading edge! | |||

I visited the factory in 1974 and watched them being made .It was interesting to compare the 3200 receiver ,carved out of a solid chunk of steel ,with the Ruger which is cast . As I remember the 3200 was excellent and the only complaint was the weight. | |||

Mike, I am assuming this is a skeet set? It is a bit more rare to see the ones with barrels made by Simmons although that rarity would not add to the value. I have a friend who has a 4 barrel Remington set and I will ask him what he knows of the value. The Remington set would be worth more but the market would be for a collector. The competition demand has gone to the tube sets. What are the barrel lengths btw? The rights to the Remington 32 was sold in the 50's to a group of people who sought out Krieghoff to manufacture the gun. Remington built the 3200 from 1973 to 1984 as a cost effective alternative to what was a hand fitted gun in the model 32. They used machining steps to eliminate a lot of hand work in the 32. | |||

Mike if you do a search on Gunsamerica you will find several Model 3200's with tubes and some without. This should give you a good idea of the value of the 3200 you are considering. The last set I saw with a skeet four barrel Remington made bbl set(Complete gun with four bbls and case)sold in the 5k range. This has been a few years back (4-5 yrs). Hope this helps! Checking gunsamerica only gives you an idea of what someone wants for a gun and not the value. I have seen gun sets on there (A browning superposed set - with Simmons sub ga barrels at $3000 - still there after 2 years) that do not move. You cant find out if any of those sold as there is not time limit. | |||
