The suppressor is a "Thunder Beast", which I bought from Houston Armory. The rifle is a Rem 700 with threaded barrel. I used Factory "Fusion" 168 grain 308 Win. He went 30-40 yards.

I haven't hunted with the Sub Sonic stuff yet.

I use a suppressor on my 25-06 for deer (actually everything I own has one fitted) and have to say i'd never go back. The perceived report behind the stock is reduced to the point where no hearing protection is necessary ( and the recoil is reduced too).

As to the noise at the receiving end i cannot tell but its not unusual for a group of deer to remain close to the target animal after the first shot. They mill around a bit but don't always instantly take off.

I love not having to fart about with ear cans and not wearing them means you are a lot more aware off what is going on around you.

Jeffe,
The report wasn't as sharp as a 22 Mag. Heavier, but not as loud. I wasn't wearing any muffs.
