I noticed these in one of the gun blogs and was wondering what your impressions were after using it in the field. Thanks, George ![]()

"Trash panda" - I love it! Is that a ringtail or raccoon? George ![]()

I have a x sight. It does not work at all by itself without ambient light. It also doesn't work with the factory IR illuminator. However if you purchase a powerful IR illuminator, (I bought the Streamlight), it works great...sort of. The problem is that the IR illuminator will reflect off of anything in front of you. So it is really only useful in open fields, pipelines, powerlines, etc. No vegetation, heavy rain, snow, fog, etc. Thus it works best from an elevated position to get over low brush. And it eats lithium batteries. Make sure to do software updates if you get one. They had to resolve some issues. But, if you use it like I described, it is a $600 night sight. And if it works for your situation, unlike regular night vision, it works in the day too, and records, etc. There is a second generation. May be better but I doubt it. Plan on the above situation. I'm asking about the X-Sight II,not the flawed model you own. George ![]()

Yes, I have the X-sight II and the new night/day vision binos they just released. Actually haven't spent any time with the scope yet but got the bino's figured out last night. Good starry night, no illuminator turned on, I could see pretty well on the low power setting (4 x ) out to 150 yards. Well enough to discern what I was looking at. My grandson also has the x Sight II and has used it quite a bit. He likes it. I'll just have to play with it some more. Guns and hunting
