Jeff, What is your budget? I once bought a D440, gen 2 that would easily do what your asking for under 2k. I sent it back and now have a D740 and D760, Gen 3 hand select autogated etc. With no moon Im wondering if something is wrong with them, On a full moon they are awesome. An IR illuminator is a must for the low light nights.

Kelley,
looking from something to whack piggies from 50-60 yards from a stand .. with low light... that's better than just a clear regualr scope .. looking for a cheap, but working, gen 1

Jeffe,

Have to admit I have that bug too. Fortunately, I have two friends with gen 3 scopes but no suppressed rifle. Hope to borrow a scope for a piggy hunt in Texas when my can for the .300 BLK clears.

I'm looking at the Yukon NVRS 2.5 x 50 night vision scope. Can be had for +/-$500.
Anyone had any experience with this.
Like Jeffe, ues would be low light/total darkness 40 to 100 yds.
Any comments or experience would be appreciated

GWB

PS: I'm thinking a suppressed 300 whisper, subsonic loads., with night vision would be just the thing for Texas piggies at night at about 50 yds.

Jeffe, Allright Cuz save your money awhile longer. Having used gen 1 scopes for awhile in far off exotic places I have to say wait. They were great for the time but were really only usefull as spotters. You could snipe with them if you had too but better to keep track of movement. Anyway, save your pennies until you can afford a better unit. At least a gen 2 but some of the newer stuff is awesome but carries a pricetag that is a bit much. You will need a good Ir laser or other illuminator as well. Remember that these will be visible as the others are only available to the govt. From spotighting and popping pigs in the past as soon as they equate the light with the rest of the pigs that got whacked the place will look like a jailbreak.
