coating for suppressor?

Gents!

I am looking for some heat resistant material to put on my t8 suppressor.

On the range the suppressor gets hot after 4 rapid shots and needs to cool down for 10 minutes before shooting again. Its just mirage all over before it has cooled down.

The range issue I can handle with just waiting, but what is much more annoying is that the thin walls of the suppressor sounds like a church bell as soon as a twig hits it when I am stalking.

I have looked at thermal shrinking plastic but nothing seems to fit the suppressor.

Can neoprene stand the heat?

I want something thin and durable that does not get stuck during walking & stalking or that cause sounds or reflexes.

Any and all suggestions are most welcome!

Sincerely

Daniel

I have found that the high temp paint like that used on wood stoves is a bit softer than enamel paint like Krylon and Rustoleum. I am looking at using a nomex cloth tube. None of my cans are used for rapid fire.

Neoprene is fine for hunting, especially in the Swedish weather! Big Grin

I'm guessing you have a T8 from your description, all the one piece steel ones ring, more or less.

The Jet-z is the best I've tried so far.

The Nomex wrap is used on Harley-Davidsons in racing. They have the long pipes and just wrap it around. I am not sure how thick you would need to go.
