Opus1Guys have been flying with the Zenmuse XT FLIR thermal unit on drones for a little over a year. They are starting to be introduced and incorporated into anti poaching and animal tracking patrols.

Opus1Canada regulates drones based on weight, but they are legal to fly. But I doubt they are legal for hunting applications.
