Just got back from a trip up to Canyon Lake to see Tip Burns at Canyon Sporting Arms I am on the way to get in the truck with the family and Tip runs out of the shop holding a suppressed .308, his pig gun. "Hey I almost forgot to show you!. . . Now Tip's place is a bit off the beaten path so he shows us a factory 308 round chambers it and points the rifle toward the ground. It was amazing how little report there was! All I have to say is. . . I gotta have one! Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. I got the same bug ... but started with building an AR in .300 Whisper. It is done and working well. Now I have to get the suppressor! Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Knifemaker, http://www.mstarling.com

Rusty, I took delievery of my AAC Cyclone earlier this year and have got to tell you... there is no more fun way to shoot the big ones. Sounds like a .22 and hits like a NUKE. I haven't even tried sub sonic loads yet. Go for it. Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! DRSS, double owner-shooter since 1983, O/U .30-06 Browning Continental set.

With a lathe, you can make one yourself in no time at all.

I would say in a little bit more than "no time". It took me about 12 hours to carve one out on my lathe, but it is well worth it I have no idea what kind of restrictions there are on silencers in the UAE, but in the USA I have to pay a $200 tax on each one I make. This more than doubles the cost of my silencers. Punishment for evading the tax is kind of harsh, up to ten years in prison. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69lxfhniL2g Ranb ______________________________ In my opinion the best accessory to put on a rifle is a silencer.

I love my 308 suppressor and hate it at the same time. Load development was an issue. Trailboss is king for 308, 7.62x39. Watch your twist so you don't screw up your suppressor. Watch your mounting. Some big names have crappy mounts. CISSP, CISA, CRISC looking for a IT Security/Audit Manager spot

Rusty, I too heard the suppressed 308 when I dropped off my 600 OK for modifications. Except that Tip had a handload moving around 1000fps that was HollyWood quiet! Andy We Band of Bubbas N.R.A Life Member TDR Cummins Power All The Way Certified member of the Whompers Club
