IBEX HUNTING IN KRGYZSTAN We put together this video from various Ibex hunts to show our viewers the hunting conditions at different times of the year. I trust you will enjoy the footage. There is also some great footage of snow leopards hunting. According to Renaud, who has hunted the mountains of Asia for the last 30 years, snow leopards are not as rare as National Geographic makes them out to be. It's just that they are very elusive animals found in remote places on paths less travelled. Eitherway they are fully protected. As you will see in the video Snow Leopard mainly prey on Ibex, whereas Marco Polo are preyed on by wolves. Many of you have asked when is the best time to go on an Ibex hunt. The rut takes place early November, however that period is not that important to the success of your hunt. Conditions are cold in November and early heavy snows can hinder access into more remote areas where the big boys hang out. September and October are also very pleasant times to hunt Ibex in Krgyzstan, with fall like temperatures. Most of our Ibex hunts our conducted with experienced local guides, however each year we also position a few european guides in Krgyzstan who are mainly there to guide marco polo hunters. It is sometimes possible to schedule Ibex hunters for those who would prefer to hunt with a european guide. Please however plan your hunt well in advance. Thanks for looking. Arjun Less than 6 months and counting.. I am beyond excited about this hunt with Renaud. A totally new place for me. New sights, smells, people, animals, foods, etc. I am hoping we have timed this hunt just right to coinside with the rut AND some deep snow higher up. Time shall shortly tell.

The footage of the ibex bailing into neck deep snow and plunging down the side of the hill was fantastic. Very well done Arjun... I need to do that hunt, sooner rather than later! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. Dear Reddy They are a tuff hunt. I only sore tracks from the snow leopard. Must have been fresh as it snowed the night before. The promised 50+ looks hard to get. The trip burns into your mind. Never to be forgotten. Regards Mark

Hello Scott, you will have a good hunt and a great experience. As Renaud calls them these hunts are expeditions and the journey itself is worth the trip! Bwanamrm as you rightly say these hunts are better done sooner than later. Most hunters head towards Africa on their first international hunts (myself included) and of course there is nothing wrong with that, however African hunting for the most part is far easier on one's physical abilities, so my advice to anyone would be to hunt Asia while you still can. If you don't mind my asking, what is the going price for the Ibex hunt? I had one booked in the Gobi a few years ago and military duties prevented me from going and I had to cancel. Been wanting to get to Asia ever since.
