A 7mm mag will work. I would look at a 160 class bullet that is accurate at 500 yards. I shot an Ibex in Kyrgyzstan with a 120 grain Barnes ttsx out of a 264 win mag. I wouldn't have hesitated to use it on a Marco Polo.

Friend of mine living in Madrid recently went and got a monster Ibex. More than welcome to put you in touch.

It's tough to get a really big ibex in a Marco area. There are good marco areas and great ibex areas but great combo areas are tough. Concentrate on the Marco and be happy with an average ibex. 7mm will be more than enough. Temps should be 40s during day and 30s to high 20s at night but it's the mountains so expect anything.
