Some crop protection licenses have been issued in the last few years. But the bureaucracy is stupid.

* The animals are shot by licensed contractors who are paid IIRC Rs1200 per animal (roughly US$15 each)
* In Bihar around 300 Nilghai were culled in 2022-23
* All the animals were buried in the ground under govt supervision. None were allowed to be consumed as food!!!

Similar cases regarding permits for wild boar in other parts of the country.

Tough deal there
First - hunting is prohibited
Second - Hindus are veggie eaters
Third - if there are any Muslims, no halal performed thus, meat goes to waste
Strange world

Never been lost, just confused here and there for month or two
