I will be traveling to Azerbaijan in July. I would appreciate any suggestions you can give me on airlines and routes.

Where are you leaving from? Most common is to get to Istanbul, and then Turkish airlines to Baku.

You really want to fly Turkish Air and go thru Istanbul and then onto Baku. Sometimes the lay over is very long and you can stay in the airport hotel with out leaving the airport. When we did the trip our lay over was 10 1/2 hours so it was nice to have a room and hang out. We did a late Nov hunt so the hides would be nice. I think most of the rams killed in July you just throw the cape out and get another one, they have no hair. One of the best mtn hunts that there is!! Enjoy!!

I travelled twice to AZ and always used the connection via Vienna (coming from Munich) and this was perfect. You will have a very good experience, an outstanding hunt in outstanding mountains.

Thanks a lot. It looks like it's going to be from NY with Turkish Airlines.

Did same route as Jim K. New York, Istanbul ,Baku. We only had 3-4 hour layover both ways. Might have preferred a little longer and the time in hotel room. Awesome hunt. I have thought about doing it again.

Sheep hunting, the most fun you can have while being completely miserable!
