Those photos are almost unbelievable. Scenery and game are just fantastic,

I guess I missed my change back in '96. Working with a Pakistani attorney who was a big sheep hunter. He invited me over, but work just didn't allow me the time to get over there.

Those astore markhor crack me up. I still like the kashmir variety the best...they look like a kudu got in with a herd of ibex. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us Danish!

A question please - how many adult males do you normally see before you take a trophy?

I know that the number of permits is very limited each year. I am just surprised at the number of great trophies being taken. Have the numbers increased due to good management & selective trophy huntin?

@ Nakihunter: the population has increased quite a lot due to the strict conservation and the community based hunting program.
The permits are 4 Markhors per species.
there is a lot of hard work involved in arranging a Markhor hunt, our guys pre scout the best trophies for months before the hunter is supposed to show up.

Beautiful markhor! That's a good day of pig shooting...are there still no trophy fees for boars in Pakistan?

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

With Pakistan being a Muslim country, what do you do with the pigs after killing them?

Actually, I thought that you weren't allowed to even touch swine?

Sorry for the late reply.
Ingwe: yes ur right we dont eat Swine but there is a tribe of local villagers who are non muslims, they take the meat and eat everything.

@Orvar, @BrettAKSCI, @Capra: thanks.

@Peter Andersen: Thanks, the government area has no trophy fees on the Wild boars but in those areas there are any wild boars left, This shoot was done on a private land where the owners invest in their conservation and there is a trophy fees on them.
