We are 5 days into a 6 day duck hunt with Argentina Outfitters. This is our 7th consecutive year with them. To briefly summarize, the hunting has been incredible , perhaps the best of all 7 years. For example, this morning, i took 70 ducks. My boys shot 63 and 61 respectively .

A could of highlights:

1- A couple of days ago, i shot on a small pothole perhaps 1 acre in size. The ducks were really working. They circled and circled before cupping their wings and heading into the decoys. This was the single most memorable duck hunt in my 55 years.

2- I hunted with my oldest son one afternoon. I spotted a large group of shovelers packed tight headed our way. I waited so Ryan could get a good shot as well. I took at least 7 out of the flock. Ryan took at least 4. Birds were falling everywhere. I would pay good money for a video of that.

Some of the low lights:

1- One morning was clear and cold with no wind. Not good. I took 9 ducks, my lowest harvest in 7 years. Ryan on the other hand was 500 yards away and took 58. It proves these birds are wild . It is not a guaranteed thing to take a lot of ducks.

2- My dumb ass fell this morning while picking up ducks about 500 yards from shore. I was so lucky that I stumbled on the stump of an old fence post in the middle of is "lagoon". I was drenched. To make matters worse , i punched a hole in my waders. It was a good thing it wasn't a really cold day.

For those who might be wondering, all the ducks are eaten. Most are given to the rough equivalent of a homeless shelter. The ducks are almost all of meat these people get.

We shoot this afternoon and in the morning then we head to Los Chanares for 3 days of dove hunting.

Sounds like a blast Larry. Ihave been waiting for a report on your hunt. I hope to see some pics when you get back.
I know what you mean by the small pothole shoots. We do tons of those every year. I remember one hunt we had we shot 64 ducks (our limit) in 17 minutes. It was crazy. The guys sat back for a half hour after we cleaned up and had flocks of hundreds landing on the pothole that was no more than 40 yards by 50 yards. Flock after flock. We could have killed hundreds more if we wanted but the look in the guys eyes after seeing that was priceless. There is nothing more exciting than a couple thousand mallards and pintails hitting a small pothole like that.

Larry it sounds like the videos will be even better than the ones you shared last year. Can't wait to sample some of the clips.
