"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Great pictures Kamo. They tell the story of the hunt and I almost feel like I was in the blind with you.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Thank you, fellas. Glad you enjoyed them. That one series with the drake getting scratched down is the one banded bird we got.

Really nice pic's!

I would love to do that, but I'm always too busy trying to shoot 'em myself (and not doing as well as you!)

I didn't realize Idaho would still be open for duck this late in the year!

Good job!

I was too surprised, but was told that they regularly shoot GWT to the bitter end year after year. Same thing with woodies. Hey, I'm not complaining!

Thanks for the nice comments, bud.

When you own 2000+ decoys, killing one every now and then is not a big deal. Not to worry, we gave it a proper burial with full honors.

Very nice.

I like the contrast in the retrieving styles of the old yellow lab versus the young black lab. Much like people, the veteran goes about his business and gets it done, slowly but surely, while the youngster hits it 100 MPH, bold, brash, and almost reckless in the way he goes about his business. Same results, completely different styles.
