I spent all November at my South Dakota house. My family traveled to spend the holiday with me. It was the first time my wife and step kids had been to the house. It was also the first time the boys hunted wild roosters so they were both really excited.
My wife loves holidays so she decorated for Thanksgiving. She cooked a fantastic meal while I took the guys hunting. Last year I spent this time alone so it was really nice to have them here.

Colby shot several pheasants. He has wanted a coyote so badly and he killed a coyote as a bonus when it ran out of the grass 25 yards in front of him. I was tickled that he had the composure to shoot it instantly with two shots. He's getting it tanned.

Hunter killed a limit his second day out. He was very proud of his shooting.

Good stuff!!!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

Bobby, get with it! You need an 870 like the kids, not your old two-pipers :-)

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
