Thanks for sharing. After seeing a sage grouse on the wall at the Scheel's in Grand Forks I always wanted to hunt them. I also wish I had bought the 16 ga Citori they had. But, that's another story. Tom | |||

Well done man! The only sage I shot wasn't mature enough to mount....I was pissed when taxi told me. I'm not sure we'll be able to shoot em for much longer with the numbers in decline. | |||

The Feds claim that they are fine for now. With no plans from the USFWS to change their management policies. I have taken quite a few in my life, they are wonderful birds. Old bombers are fairly close to the size of a female wild turkey. They are the largest grouse in North America by a fairly large margin. Similar in size to black grouse of Europe. | |||

Short season in Wyoming only 11 days this year but lots of sage grouse. I did not get a mature male to mount a goal for me next year. Hope we get to hunt them for years to come. I do like brittanies and these two even retrieve. | |||
