I am watching the show tonight . They are duck hunting . Atz clearly shot with no plug. I wonder if there will be repercussions for this?

I am shocked no one caught this before the show was aired.

Bring it up on the AK forum and you will get more comments.

I think that there was something about steel shot only being a suggestion in the spring "subsistence" season. The rules seem to be pretty much nonexistent for that shoot.

Down here, you're allowed to shoot spring snow geese without a plug, so I would not be surprised it's ok.

Actually during our Subsistence Hunts the rules are liberal but there are still rules that are enforced.

I'm not certain about the plug, (I shoot an over &under,) but non toxic shot is required as well as rules of chase, allowed types of firearms, etc,.

Generally, it is against FEDERAL law to hunt migratory birds with a gun that hold more than 3 rounds. Does that apply up there? No idea.

Heck it doesn't matter... Has anyone seen or noticed what utterly bad shots and bad hunters they all seem to be. I'm sure they were only warning shots at the ducks!!! Warning shots don't count under the Federal guidelines....Smiler

Remember it's reality TV which means 95% of it is scripted nonsense. Shooting skill doesn't appear to be a concern of any of theirs.

I caught part of the show last night. It seemed to me that they edited a number of misses together so it sounded like more than three shots in a row. I doubt the editors have no idea of waterfowl regulations.

It doesn't seem like any of the family do much wingshooting.

When he loaded the shogun before the first shot, he put one shell in the chamber and two in the magazine.

I was watching that one show (Is it "Below Zero ?) the other night where that lady lives by herself about 190 miles north of the Arctic Circle. I watched with great interest her shooting her little 410 shotgun at an unseen ptarmigan. She ran over and picked it up and carried it back ... it had no head !!??? Why even waste a shell ?? rotflmo Just go pick them up and take them home ..

And how about last night? Deer hunting, three shots, no deer. all shots offhand at 200+ yds? And, an accidental discharge?

They seem to do a lot of stupid stuff. No sticks. No binos.etc etc etc

Plus they don't have enought meat yet let the least experienced shoot.

What makes me laugh is that the singer Jewell is the daughter of one of the two older men, so this is her 1st degree of kinship family.

So much for glamour?
