Fellas, for hunting upland birds from grouse to chukar, what's the maximum weight of shotgun you are comfortable with carrying? For me, seven pounds is about the upper end in a 12 gauge. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

G'day, personally, I think my old Westley Richards 12g with 2 1/2" chambers at 5 3/4lbs is about right for walking around. I wouldn't want to shoot clays with it all day, though. I do have a berretta ultralight (6lbs) for use in swamps, etc, might wreck the WR. It seems to do quite well, and came with a set of 'paradox' barrels as well. Handy if you hunt somewhere where you are not sure if you will see a brace of quail, or a boar. Cheers, Dave. Non Illegitium Carborundum Cheers, Dave. Aut Inveniam Viam aut Faciam.
