Just returned from three days of dove hunting at Alamos, Mexico. It was a great trip with lots of doves, sunny 80 degree weather and wonderful food. We flew into Alamos via Obregon in a private plane, so we bypassed any obvious security problems at the border. The area seemed peaceful and the locals happy and relaxed. I was curious if there were any Collared Doves in the area you hunted. Florida is now over run with them and now we're getting them here. We have no limit but as of yet they are not in any real numbers. They are larger than Mourning Dove, have a black collar and are very loud and aggressive birds. Another key feature is their tail. It is not pointed, rather squared off. Florida has them all over the cities, just like pigeon.
