Brant are ocean going geese and are just absolutely fantastic graceful flyers. There are 4 sub-species of Brant Geese: - Branta bernicla bernicla - Branta bbernicla orientalis - Branta bernicla hrota - Branta bernicla nigricans I took these pics of the Branta bernicla hrota (also known as Atlantic Brant) on the Atlantic Coast. We are so lucky that we are allowed to hunt them in the United States. Limit is usually low on these birds but they are really a lot of fun to hunt.                     | ||

Awesome pics, and agree on the noble brant's grace and agility. Unfortunately for them and perhaps fortunately for those that hunt them, they had the door closed in their faces at the counter where they were giving out smarts and wariness characteristics.
