We had good numbers of local birds in October hanging around on the river. December and January we got migrators staying if there was a food source.
My friends and I pooled a bunch of our meat to get salami and pepperoni stix made. It's a great way to eat a lot of waterfowl.

Great pictures! That looks like a blast! You were definitely in the right place

This year I am going to book a Goose hunt. Traded off my 3.5" 12ga and got a 10ga. I am hooked! Next I need to research on reloading shotgun ammo and get some ammo stockpiled

Wish I could say the same Bobby but I only hunted 3 times here at home and only shot two lawn darts. Frowner About to head up to Reelfoot for some snows as west TN has become a good choice to hunt them. Never tried duck salami or pepperoni stix, sounds good. Cheers, David

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

My week at Reel Foot the lake froze and it slowed down drastically, shot some mallards the first 2 days and then nothing but a very few divers.Saw a ton of geese flying around, love to go to the Foot.
