Not for nothing, but brant are not hard to hunt, or kill. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay that kind of money to hunt them.

Get a dozen canada goose floaters and find a beach where they frequent (here they gravitate to the eel grass beds). Set up at first light, kill your limit in the surf and spend your $300 on a couple nice dinners...

Wink

Ah, the Atlantic Brant......extremely wary and ever so difficult to decoy. Wink

Just kidding blaser93.....every situation is skewed by familiarity......hence one man's rara avis is ho-hum to another. They're still fun to hunt sitting on a jetty on a blustery winter morning.

The problem is maryland has very few open sites where you can just Plop some decoys.
Pitboss is the man when it comes to this. You will be hunting out of an awesome Bankes boat, see awesome dog work, and he's aparently started serving Maryland Crab soup on the boat.
Your money will be well spent.

I dont know the oringinal poster, nor do i work for pitboss, but I have known him and his outfit for over 10 years.
He's one of the best.

I know Pitboss is good But for 2 people $500 each is steep . I don't mind paying $250 or less. I"ll wait some hunt will come along to collect the Brant I want.

FWIW, If you're going to go to MD and hunt brant then Capt. Jeff at Pitboss Waterfowl is the best of the best. Jeff also came up with me and filmed a hunt a few seasons back.

He's not only a top notch guide but a great guy as well. You won't go wrong should you decide to hunt with him.

I would certainly be comfortable hunting with LDK, and my offer to buy him a beer/lunch still stands. He'll be gunning in my back yard, after all. Wink

Just FYI on a brant specific hunt here: we have a split season, so make sure any plans take dates into consideration.

Brant (Coastal Zone Only) Nov. 17 - Nov. 26 Dec. 15 - Jan. 31

Limit is 2

B93, there are other options too. PM me if you'd like. Always happy to steer fellow waterfowlers in the right direction.

Looks like I will need an extra day for those Brant, but I'm sure this won't be my only visit to Beantown. Really looking foward to it. KG, we will definitely make time for a visit, and I'm sure the next trip will include time for touring the great city of Boston. Too much to do and see and so little time Cool B93, you are welcome to join me anytime, whether this or other hunts.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
