Well we started off the season yesterday in good fashion with my youngest and a few friends. Four limits of Scoters and some bonus Eiders as well.

My Choc. Lab Gunner will be ten on Veterans day and is still going strong as if he were a youngster. With over 6000 retrieves in his career he does his job as well as any out there.

Beautiful dog... Labs are the best all around hunting breed there is.

What a great dog! Labs are special, probably all retrievers for that matter.

I have a 50 pound black lab that is Gunner's age. She wasn't trained for hunting but functions as a full time livestock guardian keeping four legged AND winged predators off of my very expensive poultry!

She's still a bird dog when you think about it!

Very cool Ann. What kind of birds do you have? I used to raise and show both standard breed and bantam chickens as well as raise pheasant and quail

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

For the chickens I breed buff leghorns, true araucanas, French cuckoo marans and blue wheaten ameraucanas. I also enjoy exotics, hence my Temminck's tragopan thread here.
