We just returned home from a great hunt near Bonnyville, Alberta with Take-Em Outfitters. It is our third year in a row hunting with Clayton.

There was plenty of snow with a little freezing rain thrown in for fun. We had three great days of duck and goose hunting.

You have to play in the snow when you are from Louisiana.

Now that's just super.
Thought the "angels" were a new layout style.

We actually hunted in willow blinds covered in snow. I much prefer that method to the lay down blinds.

I took a couple of photos when the weather was not too bad. It was difficult to shoot against the white sky, either the birds were dark or the sky was too light.

Some of my favorite duck hunting memories were in snowstorms. Glad you guys had a good time, and you are a much better man with a camera than I... I have never had a flying duck photo turn out.

It is difficult to photograph birds on the move and even more difficult to do while hunting. Kamo Gari has posted some great pictures of ducks, I thought it was worth a try. It helped to have a very good 100-400 MM lens.

One more decent one that was close to being very good.

Looked like a great hunt Mike! How many bottles of Schnapp's were consumed before a grown man lies down in the snow to make snow angels?

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
