I've heard a lot, and seen videos and articles, about some amazing goose hunt trips to Canada for Honkers. Monster flocks of x00's of birds, limit almost guaranteed. Do these really exist? Each year with my dad we do a hunting trip, this would be a great thing we'd both like to do if it really is such a good thing with high probability ==It took us thousands of years to get to the top of the food chain...I am NOT going back== ==No need to eat, what food eats== ==Its only food if it has, at one point in time, had blood in it==

http://www.deansoutdoor.com/ If you want to hunt right in the nesting grounds of pothole country with a great outfitt then this is the right place. DU did a write up of "the" place to hunt in Alberta on a lake that is about 15 km to the north of this camp. They are not into taking a high volume of hunters and you have the camp to yourself if you have a group together. You get to hunt the best shoots and they work hard for you. Camp is also an hour from the airport. If you want just geese then the more Northern part is a bit better but the duck numbers are not very good and a lot of the honkers are the smaller lessers. You also have to fly further north or drive 5 hours once you get to Edmonton. Southern Alberta is good later in the year but hit and miss some years. Not very much water in some areas and not many pothole shoots like central Alberta. Saskatchewan can be fun as well. You can't hunt geese in the afternoon and if you find the right outfitter they might be able to find a few ducks to shoot in the afternoon. There are a lot of snows and specks which can be frustrating hunting or outstanding depending on the day. Personally for an American it is a long way and lots of money to hunt snows as you can do it for less and travel less at home for the most part. Good luck and enjoy.
