I just returned from a 10 day pheasant and sharpail hunt. I hunted five days in Eastern Montana for sharpies and pheasants. The bird populations were very good this year and my success was excellent. My Small Munsterlander gave me 10 to 15 points per day. I then drove down to Lyman County in South Dakota and hunted on a private lease with another AR poster for pheasants. Lyman County has the highest pheasant brrod survey numbers in all of SD. This years average was ovewr 19 birds per mile. My SM gave us between 20 and 30 points per day and you can only hunt after noon on opening week. One thing I can say is that those SD roosters sure take a lot of killing.

A fellow AR poster with my Small Munsterlander and the first pheasant of the day.

More pics if you have 'em!! Hard to get bird hunting pics her on AR. I'll be leaving in 4 weeks for my annual hunt in South Dakota. The area I hunt has a bird population about 1/2 of where you hunted and there are plenty of birds. Can't imagine twice as many!!

It sure is! I had a terrific time hunting with fellow 465H&H - a true gentleman and sportsman. Hunting behind his outstanding pointing dog was an experience in of itself.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
