I just returned from a fantastic Capercaillie hunt in Sweden. Shot a monster Caper.

One of the friendliest countries I have ever visited. Everybody spoke English and food was amazing.

Thank you gentlemen. Get this done while you are young and able, lot of walking involved.

This is a hard hunt which I would not recommend to someone who is out of shape. I have seen only a handful of Capercaillie pics with hunters from Stateside.

@Kamo Gari
Benelli 12 Gauge at 40 yards.

Here is another trophy bird I collected on this trip....Black Grouse !!!
They have the most amazing tails with opposing "J"-shaped feathers.

@Norton
They had two birds at the cabin mounted together (very poor taxidermy) doing a face-off. I will see if I remembered to take a pic of that.

@Kamo Gari
Drooling will start when you see the hens Big Grin

@Goldeneye
That is a sweet video. I have not yet decided how to mount the Caper as I saw them doing some pretty crazy stretchings and poses. Will keep you all posted.

Here is the hen Black Grouse.
