Sam was well known to us in the Civil War collectors family. Not long ago Lawrence Christopher in Dalton, GA had a 20 pounder Parrot shell explode in his building while he was disarming it. Left him in a coma for months but he is recovering now. Lost an eye, some fingers and has a plate in his head. Sheriff went into his home while he lay in a coma and confiscated his enormous Civil War artillery shell collection (which was all disarmed), took it off and had the Army blow it all up. They are dangerous and not to be taken lightly. Both men (and a number of others that have been killed) had disarmed many shells over the years. It is truly a sad story, especially for his family. My condolences go out to them. Mark for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside | |||
