I have watched several videos supposedly explaining why Trump won. They went into the grievances many are "feeling" and several other reasons, somehow apparently trying to give them standing.

One in particular was rather long and I suffered through it all. I didn't post a link herein because I concluded the so-deemed well respected and well credentialed guy doing the opinion sharing was nucking futz.

So far, I don't believe any of them are getting it right. None of the analysis I've seen so far offer satisfying answers.

The best way to analysis it, IMO, is to throw out, dismiss, the reasons or effect in a cause-and-effect relationship.

To name a few - vindication, proof the winners were right, and the losers were wrong, a clear plan or path to resolve electorate grievances - well-being economically and/or culturally, substantiation that Trump suffered unjustly from a weaponized DOJ etc., validate all Trump's lies as actually true. There's more but that's enough for now.

What does that leave, regarding why Trump won?

IMO, those who voted for Trump were tired of the "System" one way or another and Trump offered "bring it all down". Some of Trump's claims are to "end weaponized Govt." (by weaponizing it in his favor and calling it something else), "root out the systemic corruption at DOJ" (by appointing Gaetz to run it), "fighting crime" (with more crime and pardons), "protect our borders" (mass deportations and camps), stimulate the economy (with tariffs), dismantle the deep state (schedule F and 50,000 shock troop loyalists), task Musk with govt. efficiency (kleptocracy), drill baby drill (to pay back the quid-pro-quo with oil execs), end the wars (give Putin what he wants), give Christian Nationalists more power in govt. (conflate church and state), implement as much of project 2025 as possible (which will be bloodless if the Left allows it to be). There's a lot more but that's enough for now.

It's a Fox News nation. Trump and Team will indeed bring it all down. It will result in the nation becoming re-imagined and re-configured in Trump's image. We have plenty of evidence what that will look like. It's just a question of how far can he go. There is little question of how far he wants to go, but some have a problem imagining that.

If there is such a thing as TDS, it's the naivety and the failure of imagination as to just how demagoguery works and a false faith in fellow Americans. I mean, who would have figured that Americans who claim patriotism would willingly vote favoring fascism over a democratic republic?

Trump won because, once again, the Democrats chose to run an unelectable candidate. Trump won because the internet holds more sway than ever before. The Trumpeteers were able to shout down the opposition more effectively. Trump won because he did actually speak about policies. He didn't speak well, didn't even always make sense, but he at least mentioned policy.
The truth is, immigration will probably not be fixed. Both the US and Canada are going to have to deal with the results stupid immigration policies, but it's unlikely they will be able to. Still, all it takes is to voice a desire to address the issue, and that's enough. The Democrats didn't even really admit there was a problem.
Trump won because Democrats stayed home rather than vote for such a weak candidate. Bill.

I believe looking at the demographics of young voters this cycle that voted against “wokism”…that America may be safe for a generation.

You should have listened to the NY Times hour on NPR yesterday. To political scientist professors were the guests. They were asked about Trump being a fascist. They both denied it. They said you can find traits that align, but they can be found from Dem and progressives too. They referenced a book I told you to read years ago. Robert Paxton, Anatomy of Fascism.
They both said, Trump does not display Nationalist traits required for any form of fascism. If you were to label him and his policies, it would be autocracy.
You are to invested in your own opinions to listen to even Harvard professors or read a book, but it would make you sound less foolish if you did.

Whichever, none are good. They share some characteristics. Frankly, I'm tired of arguing about whether Trump(ism) is fascist or not. WTF difference does it make? He's definitely not about respecting and preserving a democracy or democratic republic whichever you want to call it.

trump is purely about trump. He does things to either benefit himself, or to have people praise him. either way, it is not "for the good of the country as a whole" a president should be.
You could argue few presidents look to the whole country, especially lately, it's for the good of their party. trump takes it to another level.
