RSA is holding joint naval military exercises with Russia and China next month. Apparently it’s hitching it’s political star to a northeast axis. Anyone besides me think this is a bad idea for them going forward? popcorn

Word is Mexico is negotiating a reciprocal open Visa with Russia too. Why countries wish to do these things is beyond me.

Yes. And if IRC they have a number of vessels purchased as surplus from various European countries. Nothing state of the art, though.

Not good.

The USA should have never turned its back on Southern Africa.

I think RSA has the tugboats available to tow Russia's single aircraft carrier around.

When I say not good…it is not that I am afraid of the military capabilities of RSA…albeit once formidable…

…it is the fact that countries are choosing up sides that concerns me.

The more our leadership insists on doing things that are not in the interests of the people living there (like the insistence on LBGTQ rights in foreign lands, nonconsumptive tourism mandates -aka anti hunting laws- green agenda, etc.) the more of this we will see.

I can’t see how any nation thinks China is a benign partner, but lots of places do think our leadership is a pack of bullies.

The popular opinion in Africa is you are pushing unacceptable policies on them.

One of the worst is gay rights!

Mind your own bloody business.

You want men to marry men in your country, that is fine.

Don’t try forcing other countries to do it.

It is against their culture!
