if history has teach us something we should re-read and / or review what happened in 1938 and what was given to hitler at munich with chamberlain, daladier and mussolini in the bet to avoid the coming war ...

ukraine was attacked since 2014 and we the western world have done almost nothing to stop this ... when the invasion/war started we helped a little but despite that the 3 days special operation is still lasting ... watch again again the speech of putin before the day of the war/invasion and you will discover this will not end with ukraine ...

Come on. That's the isolationist attitude that made WWII so hard to win, after we were pushed into it.

The Nazis had designs for a long-range bomber that could reach NY and DC and plans to use them. If we'd only delayed a little longer getting involved...

All Ukraine wants is its freedom. Americans need to step up to the plate to support them.

To be honest Steve. While Putin is a jack-booted thug and I would happily trip the lever on the gallows to hang the SOB…Russia is very little threat militarily. We’ve all seen it now. If Trump talks him into retiring into his hole…so be it…we are all better off. Sending new blades to the meat grinder ain’t helping. Zelensky is not a saint.

To be honest, I never imagined in a million years that the GOP would become a tool to promote Russian aggression, but here we are. Russia is a threat and are behaving as such throughout the world, in Europe, in the middle East and in Africa. China has Asia nicely covered in that arena.

We are far better off standing united with our allies then going it alone and have a confrontational foreign policy with them in regards to both trade and defense.

Reagan would be appalled. What an embarrassment Trump's actions are, undermining 80 years of consistent foreign policy and turning on our closest friends. barf

America alone......asinine to say the least.

I repeat Russia is not a military threat. They are a third rate military. Hopefully Trump will get Putin to retire to his hole. Nothing is being accomplished in Ukraine.

China on the other hand is a global threat with capabilities.

You are wrong, Russia has been and will continue to be a threat. They are a destabilizing force throughout the world. The UAE would not be able to continue it's proxy war with the Saudi's in Sudan without Russia. Russia had been instrumental in supporting Assad. Ukraine is obvious but similar situations are brewing in Moldova and Georgia. Russia has recently gained a much larger military footprint in the former French colonies in Africa.

Why you continue to downplay the Russian threat is a mystery to me. I can only surmise that this because you support everything that the orange turd does, no matter how poorly thought out that it may be.

Abandoning our allies is a HUGE mistake that America will pay for, for generations.

Yep…we would mop the floor with the Russian military…would not even be a good fight.

But you are correct…politically, we are not set up to win longterm and our population has no stomach for war.

They are a military threat. All they have to do is punch a NATO Ally. We are treaty bound, Senate ratified, to engage militarily.

By your logic, Germany was not a military threat to the U.S. Hitler declaring War, hoping to bring the Japanese into Russia-German conflict.

In particular we have no stomach for a nuclear war. Would Putin fold his tent without at least one or two detonations somewhere to make his point? Maybe at Los Alamos, to minimize actual damage and acknowledge its history...

In the non-nuclear realm, a fight with Russia would make an opportunity for China to bother Taiwan while we were otherwise occupied. I do not know if a two-front war is something we'd 'win' (we'd all be losers).

You're OK with Putin invading another sovereign country and taking that country's land by force?

My view of it is that we should confront Putin at every opportunity and thwart his plans to return Russia to being a world power. Because, that is exactly what he wants to do. He is old school KGB.

Oh, really? Quick google search:

Russia has the world's second-strongest military, with a large nuclear arsenal, a large fleet of ballistic missile submarines, and advanced airpower. Russia's military is a significant conventional threat to European security.

Personnel:
About one million active-duty personnel and close to two million reservists
Manpower comes from a pool of about 140 million citizens

Weapons:
The world's largest stockpile of nuclear weapons
The world's second-largest fleet of ballistic missile submarines
The Su-57 stealth fighter
The T-72 MBT main battle tank

Fleet:
Nearly 800 active hulls, including submarines, surface combatants, and an aircraft carrier

Airpower:
Second only to the United States, with a focus on both Air Force and Naval Air Aviation

Military spending:
In 2024, Russia has the world's third-highest military expenditure, at approximately US$130 billion

Russia still poses a significant threat to Europe and the United States.

Here we have the far, false, right not caring that Ukraine will not be at the table when they are the ones doing the fighting and firing.

In 2-8 years Putin will be back to take someone else.
