Try to keep up, Doctor, Catherine Herridge was "laid off" by CBS and is now in Civil Contempt for refusing to reveal who gave her part of an FBI investigative file on a woman who was never charged with a crime. Did or did not the head of NYFD state that they were going to investigate re inappropriate behavior in public relating to the booing/Trump chanting? What in the blue blazes did they expect would happen? A political AG making a speech in front of folks who don’t agree with her unrelated to the firemen’s jobs? Who ordered the FD folks to be there as backdrop to the speech? I get that the firefighters behavior was boorish. You should get that they were not the only boorish folks in this situation.

I know you aren't much on the actual rule of law and the constitution - But the Freedom of the Press, you can see it in the 1st amendment, should be protected, and protecting sources is settled law - Oh, and the Fbi has files on MANY people "not even charged" because they build the files, with at least one goal, of charging people in the future. You know, of the words used to describe the fbi, meticulous is a common one - and they do follow the rule of law. oh, and even if the person is never charged with the crime they were suspected of committing, which required an investigation, the files aren't destroyed -- it's actually against the law... You support a seditionist. RAFFENSPERGER: Mr. President, the problem you have with social media, they — people can say anything. TRUMP: Oh, this isn’t social media. This is Trump media. It’s not social media. It’s really not, it’s not social media. I don’t care about social media. I couldn’t care less. Social media is Big Tech. Big Tech is on your side, you know. I don’t even know why you have a side, because you should want to have an accurate election. And you’re a Republican. RAFFENSPERGER: We believe that we do have an accurate election. TRUMP: No, no, you don’t. No, no, you don’t. You don’t have, you don’t have. Not even close. You’re off by hundreds of thousands of votes. Excerpt #4 TRUMP: ... because, you know what they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal — that’s a criminal offense. And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. And that’s a big risk. But they are shredding ballots, in my opinion, based on what I’ve heard. And they are removing machinery and they’re moving it as fast as they can, both of which are criminal finds. And you can’t let it happen and you are letting it happen. You know, I mean, I’m notifying you that you’re letting it happen. So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have … _______ -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

You are incorrect. Assuming you were correct, popular opinion does not control. 53 percent blame President Trump 53% of voters believe Trump deserves a great deal or a good amount of blame for Jan. 6. https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug...%20Republicans%20did. Fifty-five percent of voters said the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was an attack on democracy that should never be forgotten, while 43% said too much has been made of it and believe it’s time to move on. Again, members of the two major parties saw it differently, with 86% of Democrats saying the attack should never be forgotten and 72% of Republicans saying it’s time to turn the page. Half of those polled said the protesters who entered the Capitol were mostly violent, while 21% said they were mostly peaceful. Another 28% said they were equally peaceful and violent. Seventy-seven percent of Democrats viewed the protesters as mostly violent, while only 18% of Republicans agreed. The 45 percent that assign only some blame or no blame to President Trump is not broken down. Too bad, Texas is not more important than any other state. I suggest you go read Sen. McConnell and Former Speaker McCarthy’s statements concerning President Trump’s involvement.

Senator M Connell and Speaker McCarthy have endorsed Trump for POTUS. I suspect McCarthy will serve in his cabinet. What I said is correct. 1) The vast majority of Texans disagree with MM’s proclamation. This is an indisputable fact. Since MM is a Texan…it is relevant to show he is in the minority opinion of his state. 2) “Fifty percent of the nation disagrees with him.” That is a fair assessment of truth and you know it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. I was unaware that you spoke for the "vast majority of Texans". And, btw, trump won the popular vote in Texas in 2020 5.9mm to 5.3mm. Not really a "vast majority"....You think he's gotten more popular since then? I doubt it. And, just so you know: you don't get to decide what is "true" and what isn't. Facts are facts. Your inability or unwillingness to defend the seditionist based on reality and facts gives you a way to justify voting for the seditionist. I mean, let's face it. You're one of those people that trump was talking about when he said he could shoot somebody on Main Street and he would still have idiots like you to vote for him. Little problem there, Steve... You were saying the same stuff re Trump well before he was caught asking the AG to do something wrong. You weren't going to vote based on the tax position in the first place. Be honest about it. Him being caught on a recording doing that is one of the reasons I won't vote for him, but that same tax policy issue along with a myriad of others is why I will not vote for Biden, either.

Fair enough, I saw Trump was a scumbag well before 2020. The reasons I listed above were icing on the cake and quite a few steps too far. I have never loved Biden, there are things he has done which I support and many others which I do not. I feel keeping Trump out of office is the most important issue facing voters this fall. The fact that the top tax bracket has only received a reduction in tax rates on Federal income tax from 69% in 1980 to 37% today is not something that I share your frustration about. Not to mention that most in the top tax bracket pay nowhere near 37%, most play games like Musk, starting charities to school their children etc. Legal, sure but I'm not feeling much empathy for those folks. Should I when hard working middle class folks in the 9 to 5 grind often pay at a higher rate than the wealthy? Our Governor here in CO, Polis(D) paid an average of 8.2% on 1.5 million per year in income between 2010 1nd 2018, a far lower rate than the middle class pays. https://www.axios.com/local/de...avoided-paying-taxes When compared to other developed nations, our income tax rates are not so bad. https://taxfoundation.org/data...lowest%20top%20rates.

The ruling was an application of NY law. The judge is fact finder bc President Trump’s team did not ask for a jury, correct? Those fact determinations will not be disturbed on appeal. The disgorgement may be reduced. It is still going to be high millions. Go read the order which as usual you have not. You might learn something. Starting to sound a little whiny Lane. When people inflate the size and value of assets by 3X on their certified financial statements, use those financial statements to get loans and even refuse to correct the misstatement when called out by employees until a major magazine publishes an article pointing out the fraud . . . well that is pretty much . . . fraud. Get caught, get punished. That's the way system works. You lie on your financial statements that you give to banks? Do you recommend that folks should lie on their certified financial statements? Mike

Financial statements are good faith estimates. Good banks do their own due diligence. Deutsche Bank did and knew exactly what they had. In this instance…2 business institutions “agreed” to do business with each other based on their own knowledge and experience. The finnancial statement changed NOTHING. Both benefited. Both were happy. All knew “exactly” what they had. No bad outcome befell. That some political hack of a prosecutor and judge took exception to a legal business agreement, weaponized a law, and assessed this massive punitive action and tried to disguise it as disgorgement “SHOULD” give you pause Mike. Now argue that any of the above is untrue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane Easter, DVM A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. It is a good faith estimate when you overstate the size and value of a property by 3X? And it is good faith to refuse to allow your own employees to validate the information? And it is good faith to refuse to change the information until Forbes publishes an article calling the lie out? That's good faith? Mike

While size is certainly an objective value. Even it in this instance is subjective. The top 3 floors of Trump Tower are ~30,000 sq ft. His Penthouse does occupy space on the top 3 floors. The actual living space of his penthouse is ~11,000 sq ft. Where’s the line? I don’t know but Deutche Bank was aware of reality. The value is subjective and I suspect Trump was closer to the truth than what Engmoron assessed. Again all willingly engaged, all profited, and all were happy. I see you are not taking exception to the weaponization of the law…cause you know it is true. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. No I do not know it. Technically, when the state mobilized to enforce its laws, it weaponizing the law. The matter is adversely. I find the order well reasoned. It is subject matter that I can claim no ability to pick apart independently. Unless the Judge is making it up and it is too detailed in the law to make whole cloth, you are wrong. Again, President Trump left this in the hands of the judge. He has not done any better in front of juries. The appellate courts are going to be hard pressed to overturn the factual findings. They are supported. The best President Trump can hope for is to get the disgorgement down to 50 million (I just made up a number. I do not have the skill to go through the order and record to say what the amount should be. That is what we have triers of fact for. Neither do you.). I know you have no idea what you are talking about or how basic 101 procedure or civics works that I thought we taught in high schools. At least, we did in Ky.
