One thing for sure…it is a good display of the weaponization of the DOJ under Biden…

…as many Gvt libs state in news interviews that the gist of the case was to keep Bannon from helping with the end stages of the election.

Karma is a bitch as the saying goes.

Sleezy Stevie could have avoided jail by simply testify as to what he knew about Trump's attempted theft of the 2020 election. Pretty hard for me to feel sorry for that POS.

He does have dirt on Trump and we know the extremes Trump will go to in order to hold on to power, I doubt it will go that far but you do have a point.

Not really.

Your “justice” system is only there to serve those in power!

Don’t believe me?

How did Epstein kill himself?

Why are the Clintons NOT in jail?

Why is Trump NOT in jail?

It would be refreshing if sometimes you know what it is. Smiler

But, speculation and making up stuff is easier.

The only thing for sure that I can think of right now re Bannon is that is that he will be one super pissed off guy when he gets out and will be keen to make up for lost opportunity to do harm. Him and that other guy - no not Bubba.

He was sentenced to 4 months?

If so, I think anyone can survive that long.

Hell, it would probably do him some good health wise.

Contempt of congress doesn’t put you in high risk population, and looking at him, I doubt Bubba is interested in a new squeeze like him.

He didn't even have to testify, just show up and plead the Fifth to every question. His arrogance got him locked up.

Even then he would have done his stint in a Camp somewhere if not for the Detainer placed on him because of his upcoming trial for fraud for ripping off Trump supporters; that mandated he be housed at a Low security facility instead of a Minimum.

He literally put himself in prison.

Bill Barr is not running the Department of Justice (and thus the Bureau of Prisons) like he was when Epstein died, and since Bannon is in a Low there are few or no Lifers with little to lose that have access to him. Everybody in with him expects to get out so hiring one of them to shank him is much harder; if he was in a Medium somewhere it would just require money.

If you enforce the Law against a Republican that's weaponizing it.

“Weaponizing” is obvious. Bannon goes to jail for refusing a subpoena. Garland then gives himself a pass for contemptuous acts in refusing to release the subpoenaed tapes of Biden during the Hur interview. Garland has said that the reason he refuses to release them is because it would allow Republicans the ability to use those for political purposes. Thereby, he has just defined what weaponization is. It’s the prosecution (or lack of prosecution) of opponents (or conversely allies) to reap political benefit.

Garland is a third rate political hack still trying to play payback for his failure to make it to the SCOTUS.

BTW, Judge, are you on Trump's short list for judicial appointment?

You are most definitely qualified - as a loyalist.

For what legitimate legislative purpose do they need the recordings that is not served by the transcript?

Absolutely none, they want them for purely partisan political use and are trying to use an inapplicable subpoena power to get them.

Not at all, there WAS a legitimate question as to whether the tax law needed changes or if current law was merely being evaded.

The Hur transcript contains all the legislative-relevant information the recordings would.

I agree that the sentence isn't long enough. He should be forced to sit in a cell with Jethro until he complies with the subpoena. He wouldn't be grinning and giving new conferences before reporting to serve the sentence if that were the case.

This appears to be a misdemeanor, criminal contempt sanction.

Thus, other than the inconvenience of it all, there are few collateral consequences.
