Trump has big plans for his government and he'll need money. He can take it from people who have it with taxes, borrow it from them, or get the Federal Reserve to print up some new. He seems to like the path of least resistance, so money men are going to get deals.

Maybe he will ask the government to refuse to pay its obligations just like he did with his campaign and who knows how many of his personal debts.

Biden and his Soros/Obama woke ultra liberal party and his staff were totally out maneuvered and in a different league of mental fortitude compared to the KGB Putin. Putin saw right through the weakness of the Soros/Obama/Biden led woke liberal democrats in power. Putin was also well aware of the Biden’s corrupt crime family and their corrupt cronies including some republicans presence in Ukraine.Putin is highly intelligent compared to our idiots who are now in power. Putin is a loyalist to his country and saw the current weakness of the US with sleepy Joe. Putin saw the opportunity to gain respect from the 1991 Dissolution of the SovietUnion. There didn’t need to be a war. Zelinski is corrupt, compromised , don’t trust him. There didn’t need to be a war with millions of lives lost, not to mention the billions upon billions of dollars wasted. Trump would have simply agreed to Putin’s demand to not allow Ukraine to join NATO. This Soros/Obama/Biden group of woke ultra liberal democrats are the weakest, stupid and most corrupt government our country has ever seen.

Heym,
What a crock of shit!
I am Swedish and have family living in Sweden.
Sweden is havinG THE SAME problems the woke Soros/Obama/Biden administration has caused with their unvetted open borders has caused in the USA!!!
Immigrants have transformed Sweden, creating a national crisis because many of the newcomers are integrating poorly into society.
Swedish cities have seen the formation of “NO GO ZONES” where immigrants do not integrate and have formed hotbeds of crime and unrest.Serious organized gang violence has rocked the once -peaceful country. Just like what your WOKE Soros/Obama/Biden party has done to the USA. THE gangs in Sweden are usually Mid Eastern clans who do not hesitate to use violence or even target law enforcement.
Why don’t you stick to talking about something you have even a small amount of knowledge on. Just pure WOKE B.S. from you!!

4WD, you think that the Russian invasion was only about letting Ukraine into NATO? What a bunch of bull shit. Ukraine hadn’t even made application when Russia invaded.

Putin wants to reconstruct the old empire. Biden by unifying Europe and providing arms has done a great job of thwarting Putin’s designs. Trump will give Putin what he wants.

It’s clear that your pinhead doesn’t allow abstract geopolitical thinking, but even you and your diminished thinking capacity, must consider that Putin won’t stop with just Ukraine.

Scott,
Unfortunately the answer is no. Many here still believe incoherent Biden was and is still running our country from his basement. They call it the Biden/Harris administration. Anyone believing that needs to be corrected. It’s the Soros/Obama/Biden administration in that order.

Putin is an old man. Putin is highly intelligent which obviously you are not. At Putin’s age ,it is quite obvious what his intentions are. He’s not going to drag his country into WWlll and a fight with NATO. That's exactly the game he's playing. His bet is that the west dosn't want ww3. Simply because he watched the west sit by as he invaded other nations. We have North Korean troops in theatre now, We are one step away from seeing polish troops stepping in. What action has he taken that makes you think he's not risking WW3?

I think Vlad's ability is a large part of the disagreement and question. What is he capable of and what can he do? Not want to/ intend to/ really, really like to, what is the actual reality.

As I said yesterday, my goal is to be named Sexiest Man Alive 2025 by People Magazine. Maybe Doc Lanes goal is to genetically engineer and breed a 20,000# quarter horse. What Vlad thinks, wants and believes about himself and what he can do doesn't seem to match reality.

Scott,
LOL… Is Putin intelligent?
The actual question should be “Is Putin Sane”?
He has a degree in economics, a Phd in law, speaks at least 3 languages, spent four years in a school for industrial affairs, accomplished pianist, at least a colonel in the KGB, and leader of one of the world’s super powers since 1999 I believe. So I would say Putin is intelligent. Much more so than Biden who cheated his way through college, and barely has the English language mastered. Biden’s only claim is he has sucked off the government tit his whole life and that’s been his only form of income outside his under the
table financial gain from political influence peddling through himself and the Biden crime family.

Ah,....no,the lesser of two idiots does not make one, "highly intelligent", my friends and I prove that daily.

That Vlad rose thru the ranks of Soviet government and education doesn't indicate, "highly intelligent" either and Superpower has been demonstrably flawed.

So I gather you have no evidence?

Ok, I'll go with that.
Sane? Beats me.
Successful? No. And that's the rubber meeting the road.

Afghanistan? Nyet.
Chechnya? Nyet. (Sure he bought off a warlord, but that's not exactly conquest or capitulation,)
Ukraine? Nyet.

Vlad has never been able to demonstrate capability. That his nation has never been able to export anything other than natural resources, that his nation has never been able to conquer anything is a pretty crummy resume. If you're duct taping Cabela's god's to the dashboards of your fighter jets and bumming troops from DPRK,......well the Bear is looking a little feeble. Does Vlad want to go beyond Ukraine, well sure, but again,by goal is to be named,......

You and I will probably agree that after decades and centuries of war Western Europe was only to happy to yield their defense to the USA.

France, Germany, Britain, Poland all demonstrated sovereignty for centuries. Yes there was a toll, I have been told they slaughtered enter generations of their best and brightest.

So why not leave it to Uncle Sam and especially when the Americans work so hard at sanitizing war to the point where no one really looses or gets hurt?

Vlad is to stupid or to careless to mind loosing his best and brightest if there is even such a thing. The good news about Vlad is that he still sees the merit of using his sons as cannon fodder say, 1940 Stalingrad style.

I cannot comment on your “ players” views, I have no clue who they are. I hope this go around he behaves differently to last time, but I don’t hold out much hope. Last time he left office with poorer relationships between allies than when he started and his administration and the US, sadly ,something of a laughingstock.

The really funny thing is that I showed a bunch of these guys (cause they are interested in US politics and Trump) the ARPF and who I was and now they are constantly WhatsApping me jokes reflecting their thoughts on Trump.

Well Lane, living here I know two people who think Trump as POTUS will make the world a safer and more stable place, the other folks I know hold the opposite view, see opinion pole above.

I cannot comment on your “ players” views, I have no clue who they are. I hope this go around he behaves differently to last time, but I don’t hold out much hope. Last time he left office with poorer relationships between allies than when he started and his administration and the US, sadly ,something of a laughingstock.

I probably move in totally different circles than you. But I have yet to meet a business guy from Europe that shared the sentiments that you espouse as the norm in Europe. Like I said, most are intrigued by the guy.

What you described Lane, was a vacuum. Most business people are going to share similar views and probably it's more about being anti Socialist than anything else.

Surely, while you are understandably happy that the republicans are in charge, You have some elements of their policy that you don't like? Maybe some of Trump's choices for roles in his govt make you think- "really??? ________ Would be a better choice in my opinion."

My question is why is the EU and NATO afraid of Putin attacking further?
The war in Ukraine makes no sense except for the kickbacks the corrupt politicians are making by keeping the war going.

Do I remember reading that Ukraine has the second-largest reserves of natural gas in Europe?

Its also easy to presume the thinking is from a western, 21st century democratic perspective.
Its not.

Its from a Fucked up Russian warlord/17th century monarch/crime syndicates perspective.

So if Putin is so “very intelligent,” wouldn’t it be advantageous for us th have leader that is equally intelligent. Surely, none you Trump supporters are maintaining that Trump is smart? Who brags about doing well on a test designed to predict dementia.

Would we would move in different circles? I don't blow my own trumpet on an internet forum but I might surprise you. I don't mix with political types here. I ran my own practice until I decided to retire two years ago but I still run two companies, am a consultant for a third and have some incredibly wealthy clients.

Almost universally people I know view trump as a clown. Some may view him as possibly good for business, but have no critical comment to make on the current administration having seen the way the Dow has performed. My US investments have done incredibly well.

Remember, you are an American, from Texas (do you wear boots and a cowboy hat?) and anyone here will be unfailingly polite and won't want to offend, just as I wouldn't.

On a video conference call from the Netherlands right now. Before the meeting, all the participants chatting. Those guys just love to talk about Trump…in a positive way.

I don’t know about Putin using up Russia’s best and brightest.

Sounds like they are taking folks a step away from old age pension and prison sweepings and getting them removed via human wave tactics.

I do tend to buy that Putin is relatively bright, but question his sanity and also wonder how a guy who seems to be very politically astute ( remember in the Russian system) got into such an ugly war unless there is something that the west is missing with regards to internal issues in Russia.

I don’t think Putin is dumb.

He has been very pragmatic in the past.

Our intelligence agencies have been shown to not do that great a job.

I’m still asking “why” and “what is his goal?”

Ukraine for the port of Odessa makes some geopolitical sense.

Why Ukraine instead of one of the other Balkan states?

I’m thinking the west has a continuing ongoing intelligence problem here. It just doesn’t make sense.

Who’s going to want to buy Russian weapons after this? Who is going to be worried about a Russian invasion after this exhibition?

Because I don’t see the upside for Russia, I’m wondering why…

I think it's been reasonably explained by others. He has a pathological fear rot dislike of computers, cell phones etc. refuses to use them. He's relying on advice from his department heads, and like most dictatorships he's replaced the truely talented and those who would tell him the truth, with yesmen and sycophants.
He alos got away with his more minor invasions and regional unrest and destabilisation for so long that he probably fairly felt the west was too weak to respond.

That is assuming he isn’t doing this for what others would see as logical. It may be Occam’s razor and it is he’s degraded severely, but I can’t help but wonder if we are missing something that would indicate the guy is actually avoiding “something worse” than this war.

This is a decent article. In essence, no one out there knows. He's that isolated.

But it gives some probabilities as to why.

That is interesting, - and they admit no one is really sure what is going on.

Again, it could be as simple as a hitleresque psychic break.

But assuming that is fraught with peril.

If, Putin truly succumbed to the megalomania of power, time and resistance will succeed. If there is something existential to Russia that we are missing, pushing him leads to Armageddon because the Russians in the know will follow him, just like the Soviet apparatchiks did Stalin in 1941.

I’m surprised anyone is awake in the Netherlands at 4am.

Here is a poll taken before the election across 7 European states showing who they would prefer to see win
