Why would you necessarily expect the director to know minute details of every security setup? How were things done in previous situations and what was done differently here? I expect that security arrangements are reviewed after each event.

Motive. They keep harping on it, but IMO WGAF what his motive was if it doesn't prevent it from happening again. There are plenty of accounts of shootings where red flags were everywhere, but yet the shootings happened.

Wouldn't that line of thought be applicable to any Director, CEO, Chairman, etc. anywhere?

In most cases these VIPs take whatever information is presented to them by their team Principals for granted and therefore unfair to hold them and in this case, the Director of Security Services responsible for the fiasco.

In the end she is responsible for the success and failures, but to what degree do you expect her to know about the minutest of issues like someone being 3 feet out of position? Too much pitch for a roof slope however is a poor excuse for something gone wrong, esp. when the shooter had no problem. In fact, the steeper the roof the easier it is to shoot from. Any good hunter will try to avoid shooting prone from flat ground if possible.
I'd sure as hell want a good explanation for why the pitch was too steep before I pawned it off as an excuse.
I'd say the failure was in place before that. There was NO NEED for someone to be there if they could keep someone else from being there.

As others have noted, the slope the counter snipers were on was much steeper. As a MUCH younger man, I paid for college by painting, and blasting, working on metal roofs. While the wouldbe killer wasn't on a flat roof, it was like 2 in 12. Nearly as flat as it gets and easy to walk on. Frankly anyone with enough agility disability that such a slope was "dangerous" shouldn't be in field work

Hmm, except no.. there are two types of director positions.. a board director, who has little day to day knowledge of the nitty gritty, and the one step above senior manager, who absolutely SHOULD know every nitty gritty detail of the day to day.. cheatle is the later, as a head of a division of DHS. She has something like 25 years of Security experience, most of that with the USSS, so I think she should be at least familiar with the operations at the field level

Apparently before she was head of the USSS she headed the Grand Rapids office. Not exactly where you put your best and brightest. Then she was transferred tit he Biden Detail at some point. Once Dr Jilldo was First Lady she pushed for her to head the USSS.

Shameful that these positions are no longer merit based.

Man, the whackjobs are spun up, huh?

Here's my take.

Trump will win but by the slightest margin no matter who the Dems run. Dems won't file lawsuits, storm the Capital, etc. They'll be like...let's have an orderly transition of power.... even though it is to a psycho.

SS agents are trained to take a bullet, but a 1:12 pitch roof is too dangerous? Huh? If it looks fishy, it probably is. It took high level authority to have the counter-sniper team to stand down until they received incoming. The whole affair was a cluster fuck.

This whole administration is a collection of social misfits exhibiting criminality, incompetence, and mental disorders. That pretty much qualifies as whack jobs. I don't think any of them should be allowed to hold public office again. They are a poison to this society.

When trump wins I am
Predicting another ANtIFA/BLM “summer of love” and several blue states refusing to acknowledge him as president.

In short I expect the left to continue to act like spoiled petulant children.

Jtex and Mitchell were recently discussing construction business.
Id think they'd agree with me when I say it's hard to come up with a better example of self defeating regulation than construction safety. Dayglow this, tied off to that, hard hats and safety glasses and protective,.....

Construction work is dangerous. Farming and manufacturing and mining is dangerous. No shit, body guarding is dangerous.

I knew the father of the guy in the Secret Service that threw himself in front of President Ford in Sacramento CA I think. Being in the Secret Service is dangerous, roof pitch be damned.
