. . . well given some of his picks the last several days I bet some actually paused and said, could this be real, others actually said, hell ya that's great. Still waiting to see what White House roles Boebert, Green and Lindell end up landing. Maybe some ambassadorships.

They were in his first term, and this time they all endorsed Harris.

Speaking of not so bright, Gaetz (as the country's top lawyer) and RFK Jr (as the country's top health official) are the best and brightest in your mind? I hope you have higher standards when it comes to the women in your life.

animal

You can hire one of two lawyers.

Lawyer One went to Harvard undergrad and Harvard Law School. After law school clerked for the Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court. Was in private practice before joining the Department of Justice. Appointed to and served on the US Court of Appeals.

Lawyer Two went to Florida State undergrad and William and Mary Law School. Was in private practice for two years before becoming a politician.

. . . the best and brightest.

. . . interesting take on what constitutes the best and brightest in your mind. By the way, which of the two lawyers above would you be inclined to hire at your firm? When I was general counsel, if Larry Prescott or another recruiter sent over a resume for Lawyer Two for my consideration, I would have called them and told them it had better have been a mistake or a joke.

I am not a Gaetz fan Mike…but please tell me how RFK Jr (whom I am neutral on for the position) is any less qualified and maybe more so than Xavier Becerra.

No one here is advocating for Alex Jones. His name was in jest.

But to your comment, trans people do pose a danger to our children. A danger much greater than Alex Jones hurting people’s feelings. Again, I have seen no one here ever advocate for Alex Jones.

Sorry, I don't play the game that since so and so was a buffoon, it is hence forth and forever okay for someone else to be a buffoon. I live in a world where it is okay to call them both buffoons and to aspire for someone other than a buffoon.

Choose a better candidate next time, and your side can do the cabinet picks.

As far as I can tell, while he might not have been my first choice, RFK Jr is qualified and is likely to bring some good aspects to HHS. He is definitely more qualified than Becerra.

I am not a Gaetz fan. But if I was Trump I would definitely have a “wing-man” for AG this go-round. Wink

The AG’s job is not to be the president’s political, legal wingman.

He is independent counsel who should still be bound by PR regarding his independence and role as a minister of justice.

Mike Jines will know why I chose the term “wing-man.” If you don’t know the significance of it…google who said it.

He definitely needs someone tougher than Jeff Sessions.

I truly wonder how many of you have experience with what it takes to be successful running a large organization. Ask successful leaders what made them successful. High on their list will be surrounding themselves with talented people and allowing those people to do their jobs. I doubt any highly successful leader will say that surrounding him or herself with a bunch of sycophants and yes people played any role in their success. Successful leaders want to have folks around them that, while they are loyal, they are prepared to challenge the leader, test their proposals and offer alternatives. If anyone seriously believes that picks like Hegseth and Gaetz are going to be anything other than order takers, they need to seriously assess their ability to deal with reality.

Pick talented but loyal people with similar ideals. Put them in the position to mitigate their weaknesses and exploit their strengths. Provide direction. Let them do their job. Be the liaison that keeps them pulling together for the united goal.

Our loyal little is not to a party and certainly not a person.

The AG is apolitical, independent counsel.

Make him Gaetz White House Counsel. Gaetz still has PR obligation of independence.

Jones, well he garbage. Gaetz is not much better.

If the AG is an apolitical position, why is it a cabinet position?

I get that they are supposed to follow the law, but as long as I have been around they have been political and tend to protect their administration.

The above comment is very ignorant. Trump tried to get DOJ not to prosecute Flynn. Trump even pardoned Flymn.

Biden’s DOJ secured conviction of President Biden’s own son.

You need to speak less and thinker harder.

Hmmm...don't people usually have to be adjudicated guilty before being eligible for a pardon?
