I don't think anyone is the norm.

I'm not going to get sucked into an argument about whether gays are the norm. They're obviously a minority, and if that's what you mean by not of the norm, so be it.

My argument is that even if they're not the norm, they deserve the respect and rights due everyone else.

And that includes not blaming a whole group for the act of one deranged member (assuming Robinson is gay).

You hit the nail on the head Roland — they believed. They had a fantasy and that fantasy was condoned as reality instead of helping them cope with actual reality.
