I'm glad we agree. It would be difficult to argue with you. My career and life experiences have crossed with such people, and I've had to deal with them, sometimes on their terms, for the sake of something more important - such as my job. It's complicated, and a long story. Arrogance, boldness, self-assurance along with a bit of intimidation, measured corruption, playing the power hierarchy (pecking order), is a winning formula. Determined to be right, often is a losing formula. Unfortunately, I learned in hindsight, naively rather than intuitively, the hard way, and struggled with all that when it counted. Now, I don't have to worry about being mixed up in it, but I like to think recognizing it from the outside looking in is easier. Also, I learned that people like those we describe inevitably, mostly, burn out. They misjudge their limits, and crash. The reality catches up with the fakes, and the true leaders emerge. With Trump, it's just a matter of time, and damage in the meantime. ************* Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. Yet there are many radicalized republicans. "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." - Sinclair Lewis Per my far-right friend: "reality sucks" D.J. Trump aka Trumpism's Founding Farter, aka Farter Martyr. Qualifications: flatulence - mental, oral and anal. | |||
