actually more common than you might think.. definitely not bizarre or anything new.. want to know who else has a protective detail in DC where everyone holds a Special Deputy USMS commission? The President of The World Bank... All of the Protective Services Agents at the World Bank (not a US Govt entity.. and an organization typically embraced by liberals) hold SDUSMS commissions.. The President of the IMF.. All of the Protective Services Agents at the International Monetary Fund (also not a US Govt entity and also an organization typically embraced by liberals) hold SDUSMS commissions.. As well as others.. No one seems to care or complain about those USMS SD Commissions.. FWIW I personally helped obtain the SDUSMS commissions for the WB PSU back in 2005.. its been going on for a long time.. The USMS wont just give "anyone" SDUSMS commissions for protective services.. there has to be justification and rationale.. and there is a process that must be gone through.. But with Musks connectivity to the current administration, this wouldn't be a hard thing to accomplish... and, its a MUCH cheaper option to the alternative (a federal agency assigned protective agents at a cost to the US Govt).. by doing it this way Musk still remains responsible for all costs and all of the liability of his detail.. | |||

you dont have to like the facts, or the truth... it doesn't change that these are the facts, and the truth.. Musk is not the only person in DC with a protective detail that holds USMS Special Deputy Commissions.. and he wont be the last.. its a method that has used by several organizations.. some aligned left, some aligned right, some genuinely neutral.. for several decades.. and has been done by appointed US Marshalls across the entire US for different purposes during every administration (both R and D) since the process began.. | |||

I don't disagree at all.... I don't have to like the truth or the fact that there are people what would like to see us disarmed, that are hypocrites that are actually armed themselves, or hire armed security for their own protection... but that is in fact the truth.. those people exist.. The fact that the USMS Special Deputy Commissions has been going on for decades and has been used by numerous organizations on both sides of the political aisle, and will continue to be used for decades to come.. in indeed a fact.. whether anyone likes it or not.. The media wants you to believe this is something new and radical.. it simply is not.. | |||

Lane, owning and carrying a handgun is possible in Canada. I went to a pistol match there pre-9/11 and although I think the rules have changed some since then, it’s still possible. The big difference is convincing the appropriate officials of need, from what I have heard from Canadians. Yes, the national government is playing games with what they want the average Canadian gun owner to have and where they can use it; and it’s certainly being used capriciously by the national government… but like here in the restrictive states if you are connected or have extraordinary need that can be documented, it’s possible. The argument is more about governmental control than about can you do it.
