From the Rio Grande Valley where I am at this moment… …I must clarify the mistaken assumption made by this quote. It MATTERS who the executive in the WH is as to what role CBP agents take on. Under a (D) executive they are facilitators to processing which allows for indefinite US stay and “future” adjudication release on own accord. Under (R) executive order…they actually patrol, deter, detain, and deport. Huge differences occur on the ground based on executive policy.
