If he honestly felt his role was to serve his constituents in congress, and that he was doing what they wanted, there is no reason to quit just because the party as a whole decided you were not a nationwide leader.

He’s packing up and going home because he wants power, and he’s failed at getting the next rung.

His agreement to take the speakership showed it was more about him than the country- I can’t see making an agreement that holds the country’s business hostage to a small minority as reasonable. He agreed to that to get the top job…

Just as bad as a lying, corrupt politician, is a politician running for office that doesn't have the balls to finish his term, like he promised his constituents when he ran for office.
