High of near 90 expected today.

It's going to be a bad summer in Texas.

I was listening to a PhD biologist.

He reports December was the warmest December since we started keeping record.

We had 91 in Sweetwater, upper 80s due today with clouds, afternoon high winds and red flag fire conditions. Keeping fingers crossed some idiot to the west doesn't decide he wants to burn that trash pile. Beware the retiree with nothing to do and a box of matches. hilbily

91 in Gainesville yesterday.

Along about 2001 or so…it got to 99 in February in Gainesville. Then it turned off cold and wet and true summer didn’t hit until mid-June.

Just never know in Texas.

Sometime in the late 60’s there were snow flurries one day at the Texas Cowboy Reunion in Stamford on July 4th weekend. Now I am talking about a blue-norther blowing in hard and small flakes blowing in the air…zero accumulation.

Here in central Iowa I have some day lilies already popping up. Supposed to get below freezing tonight. I wonder if they need to be covered or not.

Antelope, my kids live in Story County and I watch their weather. Nice couple of days then back in the teens.

High of 33 in Ames tomorrow and then back to milder temps for another week. Really not unusual tho. Every so often there is concern that the tulips will bloom too early.

we didn't even make 20 for a high.
0 is where the pointer will be at dark, and going down all night now that the snow storm has passed.

Smoke from the Panhandle wildfires woke me up at 1:30, brought to the Rolling Plains by the winds out of the north. The Smokehouse Creek fire, 300,000 acres and uncontained, is burning just a ways north of where my grandmother grew up on the Canadian.
