I read it. It was allied propaganda. Like usual for western propaganda, there is a strong element of truth to it but it’s also a bit shaky in the details. Japan was not a fascist state. It was militant imperialism. Remember, that was written during the war and being used to keep soldiers on task and not sympathizing with the enemy. A lot of what fascists promised were what all politicians promise- safety, wealth, fairness, and a better tomorrow. How they ran the country (like how most politicians behave once elected) was very different than their promises. But the fascists did deliver improved conditions to their people (as long as you weren’t considered some sort of enemy of the state)…. It’s just the results were not worth the price. The similarities between the communists and the fascists are legion. Note that Spain was a fascist nation (under Franco) and they did not indulge in genocide or wars of aggression. That they were authoritarian did eventually result in a rather significant regime change eventually. | |||

Where did I say that fascism was not all bad? I said that your original piece was not an accurate statement and that it was allied propaganda during the war. The point about Franco was to show that you can be fascist and not start wars of aggression- so starting a war or genocide are not necessarily fascism. Fascism is purely collectivism with the good/strengthening of the nation state (the central government, more properly) as its paramount goal.

Let us look at what Trump is most likely to do if he wins the election. 1. He will push is "Immunity advantage" to the full extent. He will consider himself above the law. All other actions and decisions will be anchored by this single position. 2. He will have no controls and vestige of due process in appointing staff / positions. His family will become free agents. He will use Manafort, Bannon, Guiliani, Roger Stone etc. blatantly 3. He will use his executive orders to attack the press 4. He will issue executive orders to the military to act on his behalf 5. He will shakedown large corporations and foreign countries to enrich himself, just like he did with Qtar and China. 6. He will implement Project 2025 in its most extreme and vulgar form. 7. He will openly assist Putin to control Ukraine I am sure he will do a lot more.
