How about ya'll?
my son and I did the following:

replaced all the light housing on my wife's truck -
replaced the door pulls on same
resurfaced my SUV headlights
fixed a broken window regular on same
got in on a great deal for a consumer grade ryobi impact impact wrench (90 bucks, tool only -- my wife has us "invested" in the ryobi one+hp cult - so tons of batteries)
went to the mexican meat market and got seasoned fajita chicken breasts
and about to throw them on the grill, son says the coals are hot NOW

oh, and made a btach of fresh tortillas

i'll have a glass of wine and fresh fajitas in a few --

if the weather holds out, i'll go to the range tomorrow

I went hunting
3 guns 19 birds

Personal bag
3 Canada geese
2 Mallard Drakes
1 Mallard Hen

We had a froze pond of a couple of acres.
I chopped a 6 foot long 2 foot wide whole in the ice off the bank. I could not get out further.

We had them landing within 10 feet of us in the little whole. We had a dozen full body Mallard decoys on the bank and 2 Higdon pulsators, an Avian wobble duck and a goose floater in that little whole.

I made an elk bolognese tonight. fantastic cook. Tomorrow I’ll smoke some geese breast and sear a venison loin with my Number 4 Rub.

I forgot the funniest part. The geese circled us twice, but did not commit.

We figured the blind was making the nervous. We had to set up high on the decoys.

I got down on the ground, lifted the blind, pushed it back, set it down, then crawl to the other end and pick it up and set it even with the side I just moved back.

I did that for about 5 feet. The geese came bs k around and dropped right in our face.

nah,, 115f and 95% humidity -- our houses are built to deal with THAT -- and our roads ... 2-4 inches here -- and while i can drive in the snow, the other 100,000 folks on the road are more used to 115

I got out my 2 portable generators and ran them a while. Then got fresh gas , enough for at least 3 days. I live in south GA about 25 miles from the FL line. On Tuesday we are forecast to receive 1-2” of snow( no problem) or a 1/4 to 3/4” of ice( big problem). South GA isn’t really prepared for icy weather, so power will probably be out a while….

I took a hot shower, washed and dried clothes, cooked, cleaned house, stayed inside except to let the dogs out several times and supervised them. Fed um and petted of course. Also booked some reservations on-line for campsites at state parks and fish camp on GA coast for my camping trip planned in February.

I haven't felt well for several days.

I caught what I figured to be covid, again, symptoms started Tuesday. Tested negative Friday for covid and flu. It may be that new virus but I'm on the mend and not worried.

If the power goes out, I've got backup.

pollo asado seasoning

per Amazon:

Ingredients
Salt, Garlic, Sugar, Spices (Including Paprika, Turmeric, Black Pepper, Cumin, White Pepper, Annatto), Onion, Yeast Extract & Extractives Of Paprika.

I don't have that particular spice combo, but I have most of the ingredients separately. So, now I know what to add to the pot. I'll leave out the sugar and yeast extract and Annatto. I do have some chicken noodle blend, so I'll read the ingredient label.

Thanks, again.

oh, jeffe rub#1
5 parts brown sugar (your choice)
2 parts garlic
1 part smoked paprika
1 part garlic powder
1/2 part colmans powdered mustard
1/2 part salt

it's my everyday rub/bacon/pork seasoning - more mustard is better

only use colman's mustard, i have no reference for the canned "powdered mustard"

I join in wishing you feeling better. My homemade chicken or pheasant soup includes making the stock homemade off the birds. I take the pheasant legs/thighs, breast on the bone, and back bone light in coat in olive oil, sea salt and black pepper. I roast them for about 25 minutes on 350.

I add them and all the brown bits to a large stock pot and add 6 celery ends, 5 carrot ends, 4 bay leaves, rosemary dried or fresh, one swear onion quarters but skin on, a garlic head half’s a skin on.

Bring to a soft boil, drop heat down to a simmer. Cover and let go for 2 hours remove the pheasant or chicken. Cover once birds removed. Simmer you want to simmer and not boil.

Set aside to fowl to cool, once you can shred meat. I like to use two pheasants.

Let the liquid simmer for another two to six hours.

I remove the large veg pieces w a deep straining spoon.

Then strain liquid into large kettle. To strain I take a frying metal wire cover wrapped in paper towels and cheese cloth. Go slow.

Now you have stock. Return to heat medium/mile medium heat, add the celery snd carrions you chopped when you made the ends to go into the stock. Cook until carrots and celery are to your texture. Next, add the shreaded pheasant or chicken. Then add pasta. You can use large egg noodles or I make my own pasta.

Stir, now and only now you can add sea salt to taste. Enjoy.

Do not salt stick while until the end when you have the dish built.

Rub No 4
2 cups of good brown sugar packed
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon spoon of Himalayan paprika
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons spoon granulated garlic
1/4 of fresh ground black pepper
(I will cost the meat a canola oil and salt the meat directly w fresh ground sea salt, light crust)

A little different.

Left home 5.30 in the morning to the desert.

Set up the breakfast tables with a variety of bakery favorites, sandwiches and hard boiled eggs.

Soon people began to arrive as the sun was rising.

Coffee and tea was prepared.

Kids used the slides to race down the dunes.

Adults were having a laugh playing HAT FISHING!

It is a game we made by having a tripod with an added extension.

From that extension there is a fishing line with a 2 inch diameter steel ring.

We made a nine inch steel hook and mounted it on a hard hat.

The player puts the hat on, and attempts to hook his hat onto the ring dangling above him!

Utterly hilarious!

Then we see the camels coming.

Off to the back of the truck to load the ammo poaches with carrots.

We made large ammo belts, big enough to fit large carrots, out of suitcases belts.

People fill them with carrots and wear them like bandoliers.

Soon the camels arrive and surround everyone demanding carrots.

Old hands are laughing at the newbie’s who are screaming with fright!

Our friend arrives with his paramotor, and soon people are hitching rides in it.

Then drive back home and off to the mall.

For a walk with a friend who is a bit unhealthy.

Salad for lunch.

Kids come in the afternoon to shoot.

I put colored table tennis balls for the little ones on the shooting board, using double sided sticky tape.

They love shooting these as I ask them to shoot specific colors.

Older kids shoot other rifles at 100 yards.

Yesterday they shot 22 rimfire, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Winchester and 300 Winchester Magnum.

They declined shooting anything bigger!

In the evening we had our usual Saturday get together to watch soccer matches.

T-bone steak dinner.!

Sunday morning is relatively quiet.

Have an old Weirauch HW 60 J 22 rimfire rifle, and I am trying different ammo in it.

Afternoon more people coming to shoot.

Just another day in the winter here. I split some wood, did a little organizing in the shop, took a walk (on snowshoes) around the campground, to see how many trees were down from the snowstorm in December. I'll be having to do a little clean-up in the spring. The rest of winter won't bring anything worth mentioning. Bill.

It’s almost -20 F with windchill here and getting colder.

Got a sous vide cooker for Christmas and I’m starting simple… plain old chicken breast. Who can screw up chicken breast?

Probably me.

Do have a big cast iron frying pan to reverse sear afterwards.

Not going to put good duck in it until I figure it out.

Like every development, there is a story here too.

I made the first one as a belt to wear around your waste.

Trouble was all the belts I had were my size.

They would not fit many others who are a bit more in the middle!

So my wife came up with the idea of suitcase belts! clap
